The top of the line

Our HighTech Racing -line is the culmination point of WB-Sails knowledge of aerodynamics, materials and technical construction. When racing at the top level even the smallest differences in performance count and therefore no compromises in sails are allowed.

Our HighTech Racing sails are built of selected Kevlar and Mylar cloths using StressCut¨ panel layout with titanium rings and hardware whenever permitted by the class rules. Weight is crucial in extreme racers built of carbon fiber, Kevlar and other exotic materials. As sails are far away from the boatÕs center of gravity their weight has a great effect on the moment of inertia and heeling.

But being able to build light sails is not the only challenge. The sails have to retain their designed shape and stand up for breakage on a wind range as wide as possible. And this is where the know-how and experience of WB-Sails steps in. Our HighTech Racing sails have the right amount of right material at the right spot.

Computers are used in aid of designing the aerodynamic shape, strain calculation and geometrical form definition. The sails are cut with an accuracy of one tenth of a millimeter by a computer driven Laser cutter. The HighTech Racing -line by WB-Sails represents the ultimate level of sail engineering.
